Partager - Mpongo Love

Mpongo Love was and still remains one of my favourite Zairois songbirds. Here is one of her best works before she died http://www.sendspace.com/file/zq1zb9

Another blog has it that she was married to mobutu's son and both her and the husband died of aids. For her to have contracted polio in her childhood then marry a mobutu and finally die of aids is quite traggic.

God RIP.

Molema - Orch. Makassy

I trust this is the molema Mutunga and co are looking for. In the cd containing it, molema is abridged unlike athumani and mosese that have side 1 and 2.
However, this is the original featuring mzee Makassy, Remmy Ongala and the king himself; Mose sengo fan fan. Burudikeni kinoma http://www.sendspace.com/file/ehlovk

BA CHAGRINS - MAYAULA MAYONI

He played soccer for Yanga in Dar, is a computer technology graduate from a European university, he played with ok jazz where he composed nabali misere, cherie bondowe etc.
He is currently ailing.
Ba chagrins seems not to have been released internationally but was a hit in Nairobi, popularised by VOK's Eddy Fondo among others http://www.sendspace.com/file/xearju.

This is vintage Mayaula.

SANTA ISABELLA - LOKASSA YA MBONGO

This is no doubt one of the best to come from Lokassa's stable. I still remember the impression it left on me when i used to hear it from VOK through a minute sanyo transistor radio in the village.http://www.sendspace.com/file/sdvwh1

Next post will be an all time favourite by Mayaula Mayoni (still in a Belgium hospital i guess) - please make a guess which one this is, stay tuned.
